Calvin Reneau-Open Door Ministry
Mr. Calvin Reneau was born in Hobart, Oklahoma on October 10, 1940. He has been married to his wife Ann for 45 wonderful years. They have two daughters (Michelle Blasingame and Renee Santry) and nine grandchildren.
Calvin graduated from Sedan High School, located in Mountain View, Oklahoma in 1958. After high school, he received a B.A. degree from Oklahoma Christian University in 1958 and then a Masters of Education with an emphasis in English from Southwestern State University in 1969.
Calvin was a successful middle and high school teacher for 35 years, retiring in May of 2002. Calvin joined the Open Door Ministry in June of 2002 and was named the associate director in May of 2003. He currently serves as an elder of the Adairsville, Georgia Church of Christ. He has also served as an elder at the Stone Mountain, Georgia Church of Christ and the Decater, Georgia Church of Christ.
Calvin has been preaching the Gospel at small congregations since he was 18 years old. He is very involved in mission work in countries like the Philippines, Iceland, and New Zealand. After graduating from Vigor High School (Prichard, AL) in 1963 Dr. Demar Elam began a life-long quest to "Go ye into the world, and preach the gospel to every creature". Since 1990 Dr. Elam has been the Director of the Open Door Ministry and is also the Director of Mission Studies at Regions University. Dr. Elam has preached the gospel in 41 countries of the world. He served as a missionary to New Zealand for four yeas, and he and his wife, Dixie, continue to plant new congregations in that country.
Dr. Elam has served as a pulpit minister for the Daleville Church of Christ (Daleville, AL), Elba Church of Christ (Elba, AL), Arab Church of Christ (Arab, AL), Hamilton Church of Christ (Hamilton, New Zealand), Forest Park Church of Christ (Forest Park, GA) and the Madison Church of Christ (Madison, AL).
Dr. Elam was born on July 25, 1945 in Mobile, Alabama. He married Charlotte Dixilyn (Dixie) Turner on Dec 4, 1964. They have three children (Alison Hogan, Tonya Thomas, and John Elam) and five grandchildren (Keith Hogan, Blake Hogan, Ben Hogan, J.D. Thomas and Jessica Thomas). The Elam's now call Athens, Al their home and all are faithful members of the West Hobbs Street Church of Christ.
Dr. Elam has an extensive educational background. In 1967 he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from Faulkner University. He continued his education at Southern Christian University earning a Master of Science Degree in 1976 and a Master of Divinity Degree in 1978. In 1999 he earned his Doctor of Ministry Degree from Erskine Theological Seminary. Dr. Elam serves as a staff writer for an international publication, "The Voice of Truth International". He is also the author of a newly published book entitled "The Mission Cry of the New Millennium". Mack Lyon-In Search of the Lord's Way
Mack Lyon is best known for his work with the SEARCH television program which is now in its 25th year. When he committed his life to preaching the gospel, he also committed himself to the use of the mass media. For several years he was a regular writer of a newspaper column titled, THE BOTTOM LINE. For more than 25 years his voice was heard in Southern Oklahoma and North Texas by way or radio.
He began the IN SEARCH OF THE LORD'S WAY television program in September 1980 on one small TV station in Oklahoma. It is currently being seen on 80 Broadcast TV stations, 3 Overseas TV stations, 37 Radio stations, 5 Overseas Radio stations and some 182 community cable systems in the U.S. It is also carried several times a week to the entire North American Continent, from the northernmost tip of Alaska to the Caribbean, by two satellite networks: INSPIRATIONAL and FAMILYNET.
